Apple Trifle with Mascarpone Cream

Here’s an apple-aling dessert for the holidays! This APPLE TRIFFLE WITH MASCARPONE CREAM is not only easy to make, but it can be prepared in advance to safe some time from your crazy holiday schedule. It is also incredibly comforting — almost cheesecake-like!

For this recipe, we recommend using apples that retain some of their crunch when you cook them with butter. Juici apples are particularly great for this. Plus, their level of sweetness is perfect: slightly sweet and tart.

Here’s how you make this recipe:

Apple Trifle with Mascarpone Cream
  • 5 Juici apples, diced
  • 1 ½ Tbs butter
  • 1 Tbs cinnamon
  • 1 Pinch of nutmeg
  • 6 oz of mascarpone
  • 1/3 Cup of condensed milk
  • 4 oz of goat cheese
  • ¼ Cup of buttermilk
  • 1 Cup of vanilla wafers
  • ½ Cup of chopped pecans

1. Cook apples with butter, sugar, cinnamon and a pinch of nutmeg until they start to soften. Set them aside.
2. Make the cream by combining the mascarpone, condensed milk, goat cheese and buttermilk.

3. Crush the vanilla wafers.

4. Build your dessert by layering the cream with the apples, a layer of pecans and cookies and then repeating the process.

You can also customize this dessert by adding or removing ingredients. We hope you enjoy it and let us know what you think if you try it. Thanks for stopping by.
